What is a Pipeline Stage Mass Action?

  • A Pipeline Stage Mass Action is a feature in the CRM's Contacts tab, found in the Mass Actions Panel. It lets you assign Pipeline Stages to Contacts in bulk.

  • Each Contact can be assigned only one Pipeline Stage.

  • There are two types: Native (Automatic) and Custom (Manual).

  • Manage these stages in Settings under 'Contact Pipeline Stages'.

Why Use Pipeline Stage Mass Action?

  • Simplifies Contact Management: Helps you organize your Contacts effectively.

  • Segmentation and Personalization: Allows for better categorization of Contacts, crucial for targeted communication.

  • Automation Enrollment: The Automation engine can automatically enrol Contacts based on their Pipeline Stage.

How to Use Pipeline Stage Mass Action?

  • Replacing Stages: This action changes a Contact's current Pipeline Stage to a new one.

  • Note on Native Stages: Changing a Native Pipeline Stage to another type stops automatic updates.

  • Steps to Change:

    1. In the CRM, select the Contacts you want to update.

    2. In the Mass Actions panel, assign them to a new Pipeline Stage.

  • Processing Time: The reassignment process is queued. The time taken depends on the number of Contacts you're updating. Usually it takes a few seconds but if there're a lot of Contacts involved, it can take up several minutes. You can track the progress of all of the queued tasks from the mass action panel (Action Queue) accessible from the top right corner of the majority of pages.

Alternatives to Mass Actions:

  1. From the Contact's Profile:

    • Go to CRM, select a Contact, and a side window will open.

    • In the Actions panel on the right, choose the Pipeline Stage to assign the Contact to.

  2. Through Automation:

  • Create a node after the desired action in your Automation.

  • Choose 'Change Pipeline Stage' and select the stage you want.
