What is an Automation Action?

Automation Action is a feature in the CRM's Contacts tab, accessible through the Mass Actions Panel. It allows you to add or remove multiple contacts from a specific automation in bulk.

Why Use Automation Actions?

Automation is a key feature of GetSales.io, streamlining outreach efforts. Efficiently managing the contacts within these automations is crucial for the success of your outreach campaigns.

How to Use Automation Actions:

  1. Adding Contacts to an Automation:

    • Select the contacts you wish to add to an automation.

    • Choose the desired automation from the Mass Actions Panel.

    • The selected contacts will be added to the first segment of the chosen automation. The sender profiles linked to this segment will execute tasks for these contacts.

    • If multiple sender profiles are linked to the segment, contacts will be evenly distributed among them, unless a contact has prior interactions with a specific sender profile inside GetSales Automation. In this case the tasks for those Contacts will be executed by a particular Sender Profile.

    • To assign contacts to a specific sender profile in the Automation and negate the prior assignment, use the Mass Actions Panel in the CRM (action "Sender Profile").

  2. Removing Contacts from an Automation:

When contacts are removed from an automation, all related tasks for those contacts will be canceled, including the manual tasks that were created in the Automation.

Alternative Methods:

  • Automatic Addition: in the segment node use auto-filters and enable automatic addition of contacts to streamline the process - Contacts matching these criteria will be automatically enrolled.

  • Creating New Segments: Add new contacts by creating a new segment within the automation and enrolling new contacts there.

Temporarily, it's best to add Contacts though Segment directly, not through the CRM as that would send the Contacts only to the first Segment in the Automation.
