What is List Mass Action?

List Mass Action is a feature that allows you to quickly reassign Contacts to different Lists. It's important to note that each Contact can only be in one List at a time.

Why Use List Mass Action?

List Mass Action simplifies the management of your Contacts. It gives you complete control over which Contacts are in specific Lists, which is important for effective segmentation and personalisation. Our Automation engine can automatically enrol Contacts by Lists, making it vital to keep these Lists up-to-date.

How to Use List Mass Action

List Mass Action replaces a Contact's current List assignment with a new one.

Changing Lists: In the CRM, select the Contacts you wish to update. Then, in the Mass Actions panel, assign them to a new List. You can choose an existing List or create a new one by entering a new name.

Processing Time: The reassignment process is queued. The time taken depends on the number of Contacts you're updating. Usually it takes a few seconds but if there're a lot of Contacts involved, it can take up several minutes. You can track the progress of all of the queued tasks from the mass action panel (Action Queue) accessible from the top right corner of the majority of pages.

Important Considerations

Keep in mind that Contacts can be automatically added to Automations based on the List they're in. If you change a Contact's List, it won't impact any Automations they're currently in. However, this change could affect future Automations that rely on List membership.
