No Connections Sent: 7 Common Causes and Fixes

Troubleshoot why LinkedIn connection requests aren't being sent — covers automation settings, sender profile issues, initialization, and LinkedIn limits.

If your automation isn't sending connection requests, work through these seven common causes in order.

1. No Leads Left in the Queue

All leads may have already passed through the "Send Connection" node for the assigned sender profile.

Fix: Add more leads to the automation or wait for new leads to enter the segment.

2. Automation Schedule Is Inactive

The automation may be turned off, or the current time falls outside the configured schedule.

Fix: Check that the automation toggle is ON (from the automation preview page or inside the automation builder at the top). Verify the schedule covers the current time and timezone.

3. LinkedIn Profile Is Disconnected or Logged Out

The sender's LinkedIn session may have expired or encountered an error.

How to check:

  1. Navigate to Sender Profiles.

  2. Select the sender profile and go to the LinkedIn tab.

  3. Look for error indicators next to the sender's name and avatar.

Fix: Reconnect the LinkedIn profile. See Sender Profile Statuses and Errors for detailed troubleshooting.

4. Leads Assigned to a Different Sender

When multiple sender profiles share a segment, leads may be assigned to a sender you didn't expect — especially if the sender was added after leads were imported.

How to check:

  • Use CRM to filter by automation and sender profile to see lead distribution.

  • Or click "In Progress" on the node counter and filter by sender profile.

5. Sender Profile Still Initializing

Newly connected sender profiles go through an initialization step. Depending on network size, this can take from a few hours to several days for accounts with 100k+ followers.

Fix: Wait for initialization to complete. Check the sender profile page for initialization status.

6. Personalized Connection Request Limit (Free Accounts)

Free LinkedIn accounts can only send roughly 10 connection requests with a message per month.

Fix: Remove the message from your connection request, or enable the "Send without a message" toggle on the Send Connection node.

7. Weekly Connection Limit Reached

LinkedIn enforces a weekly connection request limit, typically 150–200 per week, but it can be lower (100, 50, or even 10) for newer or less trusted accounts.

How to check: Go to Sender Profiles → select the sender → Details tab. Look for a notification about the weekly limit being reached.

Fix: Wait for the weekly limit to reset, or see LinkedIn Connection Limit Reached Explained for more details.
