What

Migration from your existing DNS provider to CloudFlare allows utilising CTD and open rates tracking on GetSales.

Why

Temporarily GetSales doesn't support self-signed SSL certificates. Yet we recommend using https for open rates tracing. CloudFlare offers this feature for free. GetSales will allow using any DNS shortly, after self-signed SSL certificates has been released.

How

It includes 4 simple steps:

  • Request migration details on CloudFlare. You can use the guidelines provided by CloudFlare to troubleshoot;

  • Update your existing DNS;

  • Create an A-record on CloudFlare and GetSales.

Request migration details on CloudFlare

  1. After signing up navigate to Websites tab. Click "Add a site" button.

2. Point out your existing domain and click continue.

3. CloudFlare will offer you 4 packages. Choose the Free option and conitnue.

4. CloudFlare will scan your existing domain, scarp the current DNS records. Continue.

5. Now you'd be offered updated nameservers (NSs). You'd have to update them in your old DNS provider system.

An example:

randomname1. ns.cloudflare.com

randomname2. ns.cloudflare.com

Update your existing DNS

  1. Copy your new NSs from CloudFlare and go back to your DNS provider.

  2. Find the target domain & navigate to DNS tab (or NS or nameservers).

3. Click change nameservers. And paste your new NSs generated by CloudFlare. Save & Continue. It might take a couple of hours for the update to happen, but you can get back to CloudFlare and finish the setup in the meantime.

4. Get back to CloudFlare. Click continue.

5. Finish the setup. Click Get started.

Create an A-record on CloudFlare and GetSales

  1. Navigate to DNS records on CloudFlare.

  2. Create an A-record with the following setup.
