FAQ
With the recent updates to our platform, we have significantly improved the process of connecting your LinkedIn profiles to GetSales.io. This change aims to provide a more secure, seamless, and user-friendly experience. Here, we’ll walk you through why we made these changes, how to choose the right connection process based on your needs, and offer step-by-step guidance on using the new system.
Why Did We Change the LinkedIn Account Linking Process?
The previous account linking process was less transparent and harder to manage, often leading to confusion and unexpected errors. We identified three key reasons for revamping this process:
Improved Transparency and Control: The old method felt like a “black box” to users, making it challenging to track what was happening during the linking process. Now, with direct integration through GoLogin, you can see each step clearly. This reduces the risk of errors and gives you more control over your LinkedIn profiles.
Direct Access to Profiles: In the past, once a profile was connected, it could only be used for automation, which limited flexibility. Now, users can access their LinkedIn profiles directly within the same session, allowing for manual actions such as commenting or managing multiple accounts without disrupting the automation flow.
Enhanced Security in Line with LinkedIn’s Policies: LinkedIn has recently tightened its security measures around session management and IP addresses. The new process ensures that each profile has a single session, reducing the risk of triggering LinkedIn’s security alerts. With this change, users can keep their accounts safe by using the same IP address and session fingerprint, which is crucial for maintaining account integrity.
Choosing the Right Linking Process
Depending on your familiarity with GoLogin, there are two main options for linking your LinkedIn accounts:
1. For New Users or Those Without an Existing GoLogin Profile
If you’re new to GoLogin or do not have an existing profile, follow these steps:
Create a New GoLogin Account:
Choose the option to create a new GoLogin account during the linking process.
After registering, delete any default sessions to avoid confusion.
Set Up Proxies:
You have two options for proxies: use your own or choose from our available ones.
Using Your Own Proxies: Input the credentials (proxy host, port, username, password, type) to connect.
Using Our Proxies: Select the desired country. Ideally, this should match the location on your LinkedIn profile. Note that LinkedIn can sometimes be misleading with proxy locations, which may cause mismatches. For the best results and full control, we recommend using your own high-quality proxies, such as those from Bright Data.
Linking Your LinkedIn Profile:
After setting up the proxies, input your GoLogin credentials and click “Share GoLogin.” Next, run the session created in GoLogin, log into your LinkedIn account, and complete the connection.
If you don’t see any sessions available, try refreshing the page or restarting GoLogin. Remember, after installing GoLogin, multiple default sessions may be created. To avoid confusion, delete any unnecessary sessions right after registration. This will ensure that only the sessions you actively create or share are visible, making it easier for us to set up your LinkedIn connection without errors.
2. For Users with an Existing GoLogin Profile
If you already have a GoLogin profile and manage your accounts from there:
Share Your Existing GoLogin Session:
Open your GoLogin profile and start by sharing your session with GetSales.io using the email associated with your account. This step grants GetSales access to your session. After sharing access, copy the session ID from your GoLogin account.
Paste the session ID into the GetSales.io platform. You do not need to create a new session. This will allow GetSales to use your existing session without any additional setup.
Proxies Managed on Your Side:
Since you’re using your own GoLogin profile, proxies are managed through GoLogin. Ensure your proxy settings are correct to match LinkedIn’s requirements.Closing and Synchronizing Sessions:
After linking, close any additional sessions to prevent conflicts. Make sure that the last session is closed correctly for synchronization to complete.
Tips for a Smooth Linking Experience
Check Proxy Locations:
If your desired proxy location is unavailable, choose the nearest available one or contact our support team to request a specific country. If our stock is low, we may prioritize acquiring new proxies based on your request.
Monitor and Adjust:
Regularly monitor the performance of your proxies if you're using your own, as any disruptions can affect your automation. If you're using our proxies, rest assured they are automatically updated.
Common issues include linking a profile to the wrong session, having it already connected to another team or sender in GetSales, or not closing the session after linking. Double-check these factors to avoid any interruptions in your workflow.
Limit Desktop Sessions:
For the best safety, log out of all other desktop sessions to narrow down the number of active sessions to just one. This ensures better security for your account and reduces the risk of triggering LinkedIn's security alerts.
The new LinkedIn linking process offers improved security, flexibility, and control, tailored to meet the evolving needs of our users.
