The GetSales Chrome extension is no longer available on the Chrome Web Store. Going forward, you'll download it directly from us and install it locally in Chrome. This guide walks you through the process β it takes about 2 minutes.
Step 1: Download the Extension
Download the latest version of the extension as a ZIP archive from the link below:
Step 2: Unpack the ZIP Archive
Locate the downloaded .zip file and extract it to a folder on your computer. Remember this folder's location β you'll need it in Step 5.
Tip: Extract to a permanent location (e.g. Documents/GetSales Extension), not your Downloads folder β Chrome will need this folder to stay in place.
Step 3: Open Chrome Extensions
In your Chrome browser, click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) in the top-right toolbar, then click Manage Extensions at the bottom of the dropdown.
Alternatively, paste this into your address bar: chrome://extensions
Step 4: Enable Developer Mode
On the Extensions page, find the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner and turn it on.
Once enabled, you'll see additional buttons appear at the top of the page: Load unpacked, Pack extension, and Update.
Step 5: Load the Extension
Click the Load unpacked button (top-left of the Extensions page).
In the file picker, navigate to the folder where you extracted the ZIP in Step 2 and select it.
Step 6: You're All Set
The GetSales extension will appear in your extensions list and is ready to use. You can pin it to your toolbar by clicking the puzzle piece icon and toggling the pin next to GetSales.io.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why was the extension removed from the Chrome Web Store?
LinkedIn requested that we remove the extension. Additionally, LinkedIn's frequent API changes require us to release updates quickly, and Google's review process for Chrome extensions is too slow for us to keep up. Local installation lets us ship updates much faster.
Will my existing extension stop working?
If you already have the GetSales extension installed and it's working fine, no action is needed β it will continue to work as before.
How will I get future updates?
We will announce new versions via in-app notifications and email. You'll download the updated ZIP from the same link and repeat the steps above. We're also working on an auto-update mechanism for the future.
Chrome shows "This extension is not from the Chrome Web Store" warning β is this safe?
Yes, this is expected for locally installed extensions. Chrome displays this warning for any extension not installed from the Web Store. The extension is the same one we previously distributed through the store.
